During the weekend of 20-21 April 2012 the SRC members of Auckland Park, Boksburg, Pretoria, Randburg, Roodepoort and Vereeniging went to Altelekker Youth Camp in Centurion for leadership training.
All the campuses arrived on Friday and various speakers talked about different topics, including “Communication”, “Motivation”, “How to Solve Problems”, “Conflict”, “Thinking Skills” and “Me as a Leader”.
During the “Motivation” seminar, the students went out to the obstacle course to do a practical on motivation. During the “Thinking Skills” seminar the students – again, in groups while trying to figure out how to balance 10 nails on 1, using just 11 nails and a piece of a wooden block.
Saturday, the focus was on the seminars “Marketing and Fund Raising”, “Leadership” and “What SRC is about”.
Just before the end of the seminar, the SRC members pledged to the CTU SRC Oath and then they were all awarded with a leadership certificate.
Congratulations to all the SRC members on their great leadership skills.
Thank you to the managers of the various branches and to those who were in the head of the department.
