Accreditation information about the CTU Career Campus

Since 1987, CTU has equipped our graduates with the right skills to qualify learners on a National and International level, in the ICT sector, for the South African job market. The CTU Career Campus offers a variety of programmes with national qualifications and international certifications which develop skills and prepares the graduates for a future filled with exciting opportunities at its 13 campuses countrywide.

The facilitator-led programmes are developed and updated regularly according to new technological developments and market trends. Small classes ensure that a great deal of attention is given to each individual with emphasis on practical training.

Why does CTU Training Solutions accredit all their learning programmes?
According to regulations from Quality Assurance (ETQA) bodies under the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), providers are required to apply for accreditation to a Quality Assurance body (SETA). Legislation with regards to Higher Education and Further Education requires that all providers of education and training offering full qualifications be registered with the Department of Education.

It is therefore important to register as an accredited provider with both the Department of Higher Education and the various SETAs, because this encourages a provider to abide by a certain quality standard. The accreditation process also enables the SETAs to establish that the training provider used by the public is not a "fly-by-night" training provider, but is instead a recognised training provider with recognised standards.

Accreditation assures the student that the institution operates on a sound financial basis, has an approved program of study, qualified instructors, adequate facilities and equipment, and approved recruitment and admissions policies. As a studentm it also assures you that employers will recognise your qualification as valid.

It also means that all learners can be assured of a quality learning and assessment experience and that the credits and qualifications they achieve through these services will be nationally, and could be internationally recognised, regardless of where or how they were obtained.

What does accreditation mean to our students?
CTU is registered with the MICT SETA, Services SETA, Construction SETA and MerSETA. All our students who comply with the quality standards will receive a national competency certificate with the SETA logo and hologram on.

In line with industry requirements, CTU Training Solutions (PTY) Ltd is fully accredited by the MICT SETA and provisionally registered with the Department of Education as a Private Further Education and Training College, in terms of section 31 (3) of the Further Education and Training Colleges Act, 2006 (Act No. 16 of 2006) and Regulation 15(4)(b) of the Regulations for the Registration of Further Education and Training Institutions.

What does this registered SETA national certificates do for the students?
Students use the national certificate and international certification to find employment. The students are also registered on the NLRD (National Learner Database). This means that any employer who is looking for an employee who has qualified in a certain direction can access information to verify the authenticity of the individual's qualification.
