It is with great excitement that we launch the first edition of the CTU newsletter. We have decided to add a communication channel to our clients, vendors, business partners and friends in the ICT community.
Please check out our newsletter and let us know how you experience the CTU community. We will appreciate all your feedback and contributions as our newsletter grows.
Wow!! What a turbulent year we have had! We started off with a brand new VPN and moved to our own private cloud and implemented all the latest Microsoft programs from Office 2010 to Lync, CRM, SCCM, Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2010, Server 2008R2, etc. The result is that we are now operating in the cloud even though we initially battled to get our Network correctly configured.
It is a giant step forward!
We felt the financial crisis in the number of cancelations we received in February in our career division but nevertheless we have been able to grow our student numbers by 11%. We have had a drastic increase in the number of 2nd years and will be pushing a significant number of professionals in the market from now to March 2012!
The CTU Highlights for 2011:
- CTU has trained a significant number of BI’s, SharePoint, Exchange and SQL Pros and has squarely entered the Professionals market.
- We have grown our corporate market share to over 35% and have concluded numerous SLA’s in 2011 which have been renewed for 2012. Watch this space!!
- We ran the Hot Labs and Prometric testing centre at the Microsoft Summit and Tech-Ed in Durban.
- We have established our CISCO market after becoming a CLP in 2010 and trained over 200 CCNA’s countywide.
- We have launched our first International ICT Tour to the USA and it was a revelation to the students how big ICT really is.
- Since joining the Microsoft Learning partner channel we have once again managed to be a finalist in the category Training Partner of the year award.
- Expansions, yes of course, we opened new branches in Cape Town on the Foreshore in June, PE in October and Durban we have offices but will be officially open in March 2012!
- How will we improve our service to all our clients? We have launched our new recruitment company, CTU Recruits, and plan to add significant value to our career students and corporate clients by connecting ICT professionals and companies with each other. We welcome Ms Claire Rayneard to our team to head up this division. So if you have any ICT HR needs we can help!
- We have had numerous graduations of Learnerships that we concluded during the year and the most significant was Henneman, BCX, and to come Bloemfontein, Stellenbosch and Gauteng.
- In total 1800 Qualifications and 8000 certifications.
- I have had the privilege to be appointed to the Microsoft Partner Advisor Council and had a most informative meeting in Seattle in October.
If I look at the above we have had once again an extraordinary year to say the least. The question is what does 2012 hold in store for CTU?
We will drive hard to make our national footprint of 16 locations work for us.
We salute our clients for their support and faith in our ability to deliver Human Resource Development solutions for them.
We salute the different vendors like Microsoft, CISCO, Adobe and Autodesk for continued support.
We thank our International Exam partners Prometric and VUE.
We are very grateful for MICT SETA for great service and support.
To conclude our first newsletter I want to salute all the CTU employees who are the real heroes of our success and I am confident that even in these trying times we will continue to grow and develop people as ICT professionals to serve and develop our lovely country South Africa.
