CTU Training Solutions is the first training provider at the forefront of the empowerment and development of a public FET College, namely KSD FET College in Umtata.
In collaboration with Microsoft, MICT SETA, KSD (the public Further Education and Training College in Umtata) CTU Training Solutions as a training provider, form part of this ground-breaking endeavour to empower and develop not only the 100 learners at the college this year but also some of their teachers, putting KSD FET college on the map in SA by rolling out 2 learnerships at the college.
These learnerships will outline an empowerment model to address the lack of capacity and skills to empower Public FET’s to present skills based from the SETA’s and add industry standard International Certifications to increase the employability of students who graduate.
Two of the teachers at the KSD College were specifically trained by CTU as assessors to enable them to verify and validate the competency of the learners when building their Portfolio of Evidence in order to obtain their national certificates at the end of their training. Whilst the students are being trained to receive their national certificate in IT Technical Support NQF 4, and End User Computing NQF 4, they are also being prepared to write their international certification exams, sponsored by Microsoft.
CTU's technical team will be installing a technical lab at the KSD college shortly to enable the students to be exposed to the actual practical scenarios of what they learn in theory.
