The grand opening for the new CTU campus in Sandton
took place on Thursday, 17 March 2016.
The attendees were welcomed in the foyer of the building and enjoyed
welcome drinks while being serenaded by violinist, Elena Zlatkova, before being
led up to the campus for the opening speech by CEO, Ronald Meeske.
Referring to the campus as CTU’s new experience, Mr. Meeske added that
CTU is all about adding value by adopting new technologies. “We do not want to
do just another course. We want to do solutions that work.”
“The opening tonight of this experience centre has really been a
milestone in the company and it’s taking training and development and solutions
in technology to a total different level”, Ronald added.
Loraine Vorster, CompTIA, also had something to say about the new
learning culture. “It’s not about the different companies and what they offer.
Really it’s more about the new style of learning that’s being offered here.”
Once the campus doors were opened, attendees were treated to showcases
by Xbox, Cisco, Addosoft, Red Hat, SUSE, AfriGIS and TGN Racing Simulators. The
attendees could race on the racing simulator and those with the winning lap
times received prizes sponsored by Digicube Marketing. The winners were Louwki
Coetsee, Dimension Data (first place), Trent Simpson, Dimension Data (second
place) and in third, Daniel Shaw from BPDC Investments.
After visiting the different exhibitions in the classrooms, attendees
were treated with drinks and lovely platters from the CTU Sandton campus
caterers.
Delegates from Microsoft, CompTIA, SUSE, Obsidian and other companies
attended the event, making the grand opening a great networking opportunity
and, in the end, a success.
