Mark Shields has been involved in the education sector for more than 15 years. He holds various diplomas and international certifications, including A+, N+, INET+, Server+ and MCSE. He also has a Higher Diploma in Business and Management and is currently studying toward a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA). He started his career in IT as a lecturer at the University of Pretoria, teaching computer literacy to all university students.
He then moved to Educor where he was appointed as the head of school for IT. Mark loves to take on new challenges and when the opportunity arose to become a franchisee for the same group he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He ran his campus successfully for many years. It is his love for our mother city that brought Mark to our steps. It has always been a dream to work and live in Cape Town so when the position opened up it was like a dream come true for him.
Not only could he live his dream but he could work with a brand which is very highly regarded in the industry, namely CTU. CTU Training Solutions, a private FET college, offers a variety of up-to-date full time and part time IT, design and business studies. We asked him why he chose education and his response was “I have always loved sharing information with others. Teaching is something that feeds my soul. I wouldn’t be me without being able to share and teach.” His extensive background in the industry and his lecturing experience will allow him to guide and lead the Cape Town campus to become the preferred education partner in our beloved mother city.
