Ricoh Graduation ceremony


The graduation ceremony took place on the 28th of February 2014 at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg. Students dressed up for the occasion and were all thrilled to be graduating.

Honoured speakers included:

  • Rhynier de Klerk, Corporate Marketing Director (CTU)
  • Morgan Crosby, Executive General Manager (Ricoh)
  • Charlton Philiso, Senior Manager ETQA (MICT SETA)
  • Desani Moodley, L&D Officer, (Ricoh)
  • Charlene Jacobs, Corporate Account Manager (CTU)
The graduation was managed by Charlene Jacobs, with assistance from Desani Moodley, the L&D Officer for Ricoh SA.

A bit of background:
CTU Training Solutions partnered with Ricoh SA to manage and facilitate an IT System Support NQF 5 learnership from 1 February 2013 to 31 January 2014  for 20 students.

The content of this learnership included the following:

  • Business Communication
  • Business Skills
  • CompTIA A+ & Network+
  • Windows 7 Administration
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Final Integrative Assessment
  • Personal Development
The induction ceremony took place on the 1st of February 2013 at Ricoh’s training centre in Meadowdale.

Students were introduced to the relevant staff members of CTU and Ricoh, and we were also graced with the presence of Willie Ralefeta from MICT SETA who gave the students an overview of the MICT SETA’s responsibilities.

12 students received training at the campus in Boksburg for 6 months, forming part of their theoretical training. Thereafter they commenced with their workplace experience at Ricoh’s training centre and warehouse in Meadowdale, Germiston.

8 students received training every Friday for a full year, and continued with their workplace experience throughout the rest of the week.
